Hey! I just finished moving my studio gear around again and I think it’s finally perfect. Every time my friend Marc sees that I’ve changed my setup he says, “that’s not going to last”, and of course he’s right but maybe I’ve finally nailed it this time. Haha.

After releasing the updated version of my Strange Emotion EP back in February, I did a bunch of listening and realized that I could further improve the sound quality, so I decided it was time to remaster all of my albums. I did some careful EQing to remove what my Dad calls “mung” from the low mid area of the frequency spectrum, and I think I was able to make the music sound much clearer in the highs and tighter in the bottom end. All of my albums have now been re-released and can be streamed on Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, etc. Here are the links to my Bandcamp if you want to have a listen;

My YouTube channel is still growing and just surpassed 2,000 subscribers. I recently uploaded a few videos about Suno AI that did pretty well. I experimented with Suno for a few weeks and made cover versions of a bunch of my songs which was quite a trip. This is a part of what motivated me to re-assess the sound of my recordings. Throughout this journey I felt a range of emotions, and there was a time when I was questioning if I would ever be able to make music on my own again. Like, why put so much effort into producing music if the AI can do it better? But I eventually realized that it didn’t sound like me, and my sound is what makes me unique. However, Suno showed me what my songs could sound like produced in a modern pop style, which was a good learning experience.
I’m still writing a new album that just keeps getting better. So far, I’ve been calling the project “Dragonfly” which may end up being the album title but I’m not sure yet. Marc Mackenzie has been helping me refine the new songs, and his ideas are really great. I’m hoping to be ready to focus on production at some point soon. I’m planning to add real drums, some wicked guitar solos, and female backup vocals if I can afford it. My friend Blair Swanson recently let me borrow his Tom Anderson T Classic electric guitar which has been a dream to play and a lot of fun.

Wishing you good health and success in your endeavours.

Your tracks sound real good Roman. I haven’t seen you in years! Hope you’re well. If you ever need me on a track(s) of yours, I’m able to add guitars on them in my studio. I’ve been doing that for many clients for years now. Let me know if you might consider that. Ok for now. Thanks Roman.
